Honey cakes for the Jewish New Year

The Jewish New Year is in September, and Jewish people eat honey cake to wish for a sweet year ahead.  Songs are sung, and apple is dipped into honey.

For 6 large cupcakes (or triple the recipe for a 2lb loaf tin): –

  • 90g self raising flour
  • 1 tsp each of ground cinnamon and ground ginger
  • half tsp mixed spice
  • 35g caster sugar
  • 65ml runny honey
