The Jewish New Year is in September, and Jewish people eat honey cake to wish for a sweet year ahead. Songs are sung, and apple is dipped into honey.
For 6 large cupcakes (or triple the recipe for a 2lb loaf tin): –
- 90g self raising flour
- 1 tsp each of ground cinnamon and ground ginger
- half tsp mixed spice
- 35g caster sugar
- 65ml runny honey
